{MacKay} Glen S. Mackay, transportation, bus driver
Nominated by Tom Given, Director of Transportation
Russ Fuller, Supervisor, and the office staff.

Glen has been driving a school bus for Granite School District since 1973. Both of his uncles were bus ddrivers for the district, which influenced his decision to apply for a position. Glen enjoys working with young people. He finds it a challenge (and a neccesity) to stay two steps ahead, instead of one step behind, if he wants to keep problems to a minimum, as well as to continue to be respected by the students. He believes in being friendly with students, but does not attempt to be their friend, finding that keeping a professional distance serves him best in establishing proper relationships with his riders. Glen has an excellent attendance record, with nearly two-hundred sick leave days available, should he need them. He attributes his nearly perfect attendance to wanting to "do the right or not at all" attitude.
